I would like to state, that I do not comply with section 58 of the Act, where land is referred to as ‘Crown Land’, and would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which I occupy space. I pay my respects to Indigenous Elders past, present, and emerging.
I would like to acknowledge that this land was stolen and that the sovereignty has never been ceded.
It always was and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders land.
Site located on Gunaikurnai country.
This excavation took over 5hours, and as I gently scalped the sod and re(placed) it on the surface of the ground, I considered the
placement above the horizontal of the plane. I acknowledged the turf would never be the
same by exploring this difference; I had changed it.
A response to space with a conceptual passage funnelling the hidden emotional residue of
histories and questionings.
